The Home of Ballroom Dance
National Smooth Dancers holds its Annual Meeting over a weekend each March, hosted each year by the Bakersfield Chapter. The meeting is referred to as The Board Meeting, as the Board of Directors, with members from each Chapter, meets to discuss common organization issues. Also meeting are Chapter Presidents, and standing Committees such as Dance Rules, as well as Chapter Queens. The 2012 Board Meeting will be held March 23-25.
Many members from all chapters attend The Board Meeting, and besides conducting business, as you would expect, each Meeting is also filled with dance. There are major events Friday to Sunday, including themed afternoon and evening sessions. General dancing, competitive events and chapter presentations fill the days and nights, along with lovely exhibitions and instruction by outstanding professionals.
This is a wonderful way to enjoy a great Spring weekend, and it’s an event we all look forward to each year.
